The Africa Monologue Challenge 2023 is a prestigious platform for you to demonstrate your exceptional acting talent to a global audience and a panel of esteemed judges, all from the comfort and safety of your own home. By participating, you have the amazing opportunity to compete for a lead role in a Pan-African film that will be produced in your country, should you emerge as the ultimate Africa Monologue Title winner, plus many exciting prices.
Here’s what you need to know about the Africa Monologue Challenge 2023
- Unleash Your Talent
We invite actors from all African countries to participate in this unique online monologue challenge. With the aim of discovering the next generation of African acting talent, we encourage applicants to deliver powerful and captivating monologues that reflect the rich cultural heritage and diversity of the continent.
- The Journey
Out of the numerous applications we receive, a panel of esteemed judges will shortlist 50 finalists. These talented individuals will embark on an exhilarating eight-month-long monologue challenge conducted entirely online. Every two weeks, participants will compete head-to-head, showcasing their acting prowess and captivating the audience with their performances.
- The Road to the Grand Finale:
As the weeks progress, bi-weekly evictions will reduce the number of participants, bringing us closer to the ultimate goal. The final challenge will take place in person in the beautiful country of Uganda. The grand finale is scheduled for May 26, 2024, where the top 10 finalists will compete for the coveted title.
- Grand Prizes:
The winner of the Africa Monologue Challenge 2023 will be rewarded with a plethora of exciting opportunities. The grand prize includes a cash reward of $1000, a lead role in a Pan-African film to be shot in the winner’s home country, the honor of hosting the next edition of the African Monologue Challenge, the esteemed title of Intra-African trade ambassador, professional headshots to boost their portfolio, and a certificate of participation.
- Runner-Up Rewards:
The first and second runner-ups will also be recognized for their outstanding performances. The first runner-up will receive a prize of $300, while the second runner-up will be awarded $100. Additionally, all ten finalists will feature as supporting characters in the Pan-African film and receive certificates of participation, marking their accomplishment in this incredible journey.
AFRICA MONOLOGUE CHALLENGE 2023 RULES
To submit your monologue, please follow these steps:
- Download and fill the submission form below
- Record a monologue video in landscape format, lasting no more than one (1) minute. Ensure a plain background and clear audio in the recording.
- All monologues must be delivered in English.
- Optimize lighting conditions for clear facial recognition.
- Avoid using any sound effects or filters in the video.
- Submit your monologue, completed form, and a headshot image to [email protected].
- Await communication from our team regarding your submission.
